What is the origin of the Trinity doctrine?

The New Encyclopædia Britannica says: “Neither the word Trinity, nor the explicit doctrine as such, appears in the New Testament, nor did Jesus and his followers intend to contradict the Shema in the Old Testament: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord’ (Deut. 6:4). . . . The doctrine developed gradually over several centuries and through many controversies. . . . By the end of the 4th century . . . the doctrine of the Trinity took substantially the form it has maintained ever since.”—(1976), Micropædia, Vol. X, p. 126.

The New Catholic Encyclopedia states: “The formulation ‘one God in three Persons’ was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century. But it is precisely this formulation that has first claim to the title the Trinitarian dogma. Among the Apostolic Fathers, there had been nothing even remotely approaching such a mentality or perspective.”—(1967), Vol. XIV, p. 299.

In The Encyclopedia Americana we read: “Christianity derived from Judaism and Judaism was strictly Unitarian [believing that God is one person]. The road which led from Jerusalem to Nicea was scarcely a straight one. Fourth century Trinitarianism did not reflect accurately early Christian teaching regarding the nature of God; it was, on the contrary, a deviation from this teaching.”—(1956), Vol. XXVII, p. 294L.

According to the Nouveau Dictionnaire Universel, “The Platonic trinity, itself merely a rearrangement of older trinities dating back to earlier peoples, appears to be the rational philosophic trinity of attributes that gave birth to the three hypostases or divine persons taught by the Christian churches. . . . This Greek philosopher’s [Plato, fourth century B.C.E.] conception of the divine trinity . . . can be found in all the ancient [pagan] religions.”—(Paris, 1865-1870), edited by M. John L. McKenzie, S.J., in his Dictionary of the Bible, says: “The trinity of persons within the unity of nature is defined in terms of ‘person’ and ‘nature’ which are G[ree]k philosophical terms; actually the terms do not appear in the Bible. The trinitarian definitions arose as the result of long controversies in which these terms and others such as ‘essence’ and ‘substance’ were erroneously applied to God by some theologians.”—(New York, 1965), p. 899.

Saya Percaya ajaran Islam / I Believe in Islam

Saya percaya bahawa Tuhan itu wujud kerana kewujudan alam memerlukan pencipta yang maha berkuasa yang mengatur perjalanan alam ini dengan begitu sempurna. Semua kejadian dari sekecil-kecil zarah hingga kepada kejadian alam semesta cukup teratur dan seimbang hingga membolehkan alam ini terus kekal wujud hingga sekarang. Pastinya ada suatu kuasa yang sangat hebat yang mengatur semua kejadian tersebut yang kita namakannya Tuhan.

I believe that God do exists because the existence of the universe requires an all-powerful creator who arrange the existence with so perfect. All instances of the smallest particles to the creation of the universe so orderly and balanced to allow this to remain in existence until now. Certainly there is a very great power that organizes all of it which we name the God.

Saya percaya bahawa Tuhan itu adalah Allah yang satu kerana Allah telah memperkenalkan dirinya dalam Al-Quran yang merupakan perkataan daripadaNya dengan begitu jelas dan meyakinkan.  Allah menceritakan kejadian makluk-makhlukNya seperti kejadian awal manusia, proses pembentukan manusia daripada sperma dan telur, pembentukan bumi, kejadian-kejadian dibumi, pembentukan alam semesta yang menepati penemuan sains zaman sekarang yang tidak diketahui oleh bangsa Arab, apatah lagi Nabi Muhammad sebelum dan semasa Al-Quran diturunkan.

I believe that  the God is Allah, the one and only God has introduced himself clearly and convincing in the Qur'an which is the word of Him.  Allah told how He created His creations such as the creation of the early humans, the process of formation of human from sperm and eggs, the formation of the Earth, earth phenemenon, the formation of the universe which consistent with the present science findings that were unknown to the Arab nation, let alone the Prophet Muhammad before and during the Quran was revealed.

Saya percaya bahawa Al-Quran itu benar-benar datangnya dari Allah kerana keindahan dan pengetahuan yang terdapat dalam Al-Quran tidak dapat ditandingi oleh keindahan bahasa manusia dan keluasan pengetahuan manusia, apatah lagi manusia yang tidak tahu membaca dan menullis seperti Nabi Muhammad SAW. Nabi Muhammad juga bukan ahli kitab yang belajar tentang kitab-kitab Taurat dan Injil yang mengetahui tentang sejarah nabi-nabi dan rasul-rasul terdahulu untuk ditulis semula di dalam Al-Quran.

I believe that the Quran is truely comes from God because of the beauty and knowledge contained in the Quran unmatched by the natural human language and the breadth and depth of human knowledge, let alone human beings who did not know how to read and write such as the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The Prophet Muhammad is also was not a scholar who learned about the Taurat and the Injil, who knows about the history of the prophets and messengers to rewritten in the Quran.

Saya percaya bahawa Nabi Muhammad adalah benar-benar utusan Allah yang telah menerima wahyu Al-Quran daripada Allah melalui malaikatNya Jibrail AS. Mustahil Baginda seorang pembohong yang mencipta Al-Quran kerana beliau terkenal sebagai seorang yang tidak tahu membaca semasa menerima wahyu tersebut dan beliau telah meminta para sahabat mencatat ayat-ayat Al-Quran yang telah diterimanya pada pelepah-pelepah tamar dan kulit kambing kerana Baginda tidak tahu menulis. Baginda juga terkenal dengan akhlak yang sangat baik sebelum menjadi rasul dan telah berkorban jiiwa dan raganya demi menegakkan perintah Allah dan menolak kesenangan dunia yang ditawarkan kepadanya.

I believe that the Prophet Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah who has actually received the revelation of the Qur'an from Allah through Gabriel. Impossible He was a liar whom created the Quran as he was well known as a person who do not know read when receiving the revelation and he had asked His companions to record verses of the Koran that had he received on fronds of date palm  and goat skin because he did not write. He is also famous for his excellent moral character before becoming a Messenger and has sacrifice his body and soul in order to uphold the order of God and reject wealth offered to him.

Kejadian siang berganti malam, kejadian bintang-bintang, kejadian letupan bintang, kejadian manusia dalam rahim ibu, kejadian sempadan dua laut, tanda-tanda hari kiamat dan banyak lagi perkara yang dinyatakan dalam Al-Quran boleh diperhatikan dan dibuktikan. Allah menceritakan semua itu dalam A-Quran kerana Dialah yang menciptakan semuanya. Allah Maha Besar lagi Maha Bijaksana

Saya percaya bahawa kehidupan selepas kematian di hari Akhirat dan Alam Kubur benar-benar wujud. Ini adalah kerana semua perkara yang telah dinyatakan dalam Al-Quran tentang dunia nyata sekarang adalah benar, sejarah lampau mula terbukti benar, peristiwa masa depan yang dinyatakan pada masa Al-Quran diturunkan benar-benar berlaku sekarang. Oleh itu cerita-cerita tentang dunia ghaib dan cerita tentang dunia akhirat yang diceritakan dalam Al-Quran dan Sunnah Rasulullah SAW juga adalah benar. Oleh kerana saya percaya Allah itu wujud, Nabi Muhammad SAW adalah benar-benar utusannya, maka semua perkara yang dibawakan oleh Rasulullah SAW tentang dunia akhirat juga adalah benar.

I believe that life after death in the hereafter and the grave actually exist. This is because all things stated about the real world now are true, past history were proven to be true, events in the future which are stated in the time the Qur'an was revealed really happening now. Therefore the stories about the unseen world and story about the hereafter world told in the Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) is also true. Since I believe God exists, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was really his messengers, then all matters brought by the Prophet (PBUH) about the world hereafter is also true.
